The author writes:
A research group at Cambridge University has done possibly the world's first double-blind study of the humour in webcomics.
They took a sample of strips from 1350 different webcomics, then anonymised them by removing all artwork and all reference to specific character names. The resulting jokes were read by a volunteer group of 1172 students, presented in a random order.
The main conclusion from this study was that 90% of the students swore they'd never read another webcomic ever again. However, I'm happy to report that Postcard was ranked more funny than at least 31 other comics. I do suspect, however, that the loss of the artwork negatively affected the results for this comic a lot more than for most comics, for obvious reasons.
