The author writes:
The Beer Brewer's Almanac, besides being a handy calendar for recording the details of one's brewing exploits, contains valuable information on the history and geography of hops cultivation, lists of the flavour profiles of malts made from various different grains and fruits, and useful instructions for purifying water and cleaning copper vessels and tubing.
It does not contain the results of the Greater Munich Area Beer Brewing Competition for the past fifty years, so it's actually a very poor choice of get-rich-quick information for our time travelling hero. Not least because he's travelling 30 years into the future.
