The author writes:

Third in the series that began with Garfield Plus Terminator and Garfield Plus Old Age.

When I read the original strip, my immediate thought was that it would be much funnier if it was over-exaggerated in the opposite direction. Instead of having Garfield unable to wait to eat his cookie, I wanted to see if I could show hilariously, ridiculously long amounts of time passing.
