The joke is playing directly off of #5902, further being downplayed by using the laziest choice of original strip I could think of.
Side note, inspired by the title: Four Down, eleven letters, first letter 'p', "synonym for lazy memes, 1/2"; the other clue being referred to (seven across, "synonym for lazy memes, 2/2") is eighteen letters, and has a last letter of 'z'.
