Jon: Wait... isn't this supposed to be 1978-9-18, your first Monday hatred strip?
Garfield: It sure is... however, the Cincinnati newspaper decided to run the 1978-6-19 strip instead
Jon: And I thought we were never gonna do the 1978-6-19 strip again!
Garfield: Blame Cincy for that

The author writes:

For some bat-insane reason, my birthplace's newspaper (The Cincinnati Enquirer) decided that what would be a "good idea" to introduce Garfield to the newspaper would be to run the 1978-06-19 strip instead of the expected 1978-09-18 strip (his first "I hate Mondays" strip).

They also happen to replace 1978-09-19, 09-20, 09-21, 09-22, and 09-23 with 1978-06-20, 06-21, 06-22, 06-23, 06-24 respectively. I don't know about the 1978-09-24 newspaper since newspapers.com never bothered to save the comics from there.
