The author writes:

I was looking through old strips, and was inspired by #1648 and #1649. This may be my most intensive edit yet, not helped by GIMP being more of a pain to navigate than Adobe Photoshop®. I thought about making Jon into Wario since they both have curly hair, but I figured this was good enough.

Despite having spent over 20 years planning to conquer the Earth, Orbulon doesn't actually have a flag planned out for his future empire, so I made one up. For some reason bright pink has been Orby's theme color for two games in a row, so I used it for the backdrop. My best guess is it's his favorite color since it's so mysterious, with it not being on the visible spectrum and all.
