Garfield: This is a donut
Jon {peeking from the left}: That is a carrot
Garfield {standing corrected}: This is a carrot

The author writes:

You know, my great uncle Ed always tells stories of his time in the Pastel War. Never heard of it? Not surprising, it didn't really go anywhere and it fizzled out within a few months. But for such an obscure war, a lot of stuff happened during that time. For example, one of his bunkmates was very, shall we say, simple. Sometimes, wherever Ed got bored, he pranked the man by telling him that something was something else, and he'd believe him every time. To this day, Ed cracks himself up thinking of the time he tried to use his shoe as a key. Even if he knew what it was before, Ed would come along to "correct" him. Poor guy never made it past the second week, when Ed convinced him that a used napkin was his helmet. I sometimes wonder where that man would be if he was still around.
