The author writes:

The original strip seems prime for remixes.

And by "remixes" I mean "snowclones".

In a good way, though - tweaking it in the most obvious way (replicating the middle panel in a particular artist's style, and changing the artist name in the last panel) would require somewhat more effort than just copy-pasting text or an image. And it's still doable with low levels of artistic talent, as long as there's simple enough source material out there. In this case, Super Mega Comics. Although it does have some pretty intricate art at times.
