Strip by: Edwin Chee
{Jon and Garfield are sitting at the table}
Jon: Nothing can go wrong if we just sit here.
{The table starts cracking between Jon and Garfield}
SFX: KKKKK
{The portion of the table beneath Garfield sinks and rumbles}
SFX: RUMBLE RUMBLE
{The table snaps in half, dropping Jon's half, as well as leaving a hole where Garfield used to be}
Garfield: That man never ceases to amaze me.
The author writes:
The basic idea is using two comics involving flimsy tables. In order for this to work, I needed to extend each panel to be able to accommodate Garfield sitting on the table. Now I can see why when Garfield sits at the table, it depicts him sitting like a human rather than a cat: to save space.
There are too many jokes at Jon's expense. We need more jokes at Garfield's expense. After all, when cats made a fool of themselves (in the human perspective), we find them funny.
