When I learned of Catahoula leopard dogs and their tree-climbing abilities (via a Cracked.com article titled "6 Dog Breeds With Secret Superpowers"), I was reminded of this old "dogs can't climb trees" strip.

I briefly entertained the notion that Odie might be a Catahoula leopard dog himself, but ultimately decided against that.
