Strip by: Billy Hicks
{A lone pie on a table, 'Garfood' logo}
{Jon's attention is drawn to Garfood, a bizarre inaminate representation of Garfield crafted with mashed potato, peas, celery, radishes and carrots}
Jon: What are you doing, Garfood?
Jon: Are you dancing? Are you upset?
Jon: Are you hungry?
Jon: Are you trying to warn me about something?
Jon: Are you hurt?!
Jon: ARRRRGH! You're driving me crazy!
The author writes:
A subtle but powerful new twist on the "minus Garfield" formula. In a fit of schizophrenic rage on January 20th, 1980, Jon crafted an edible form of his long-dead pet cat made out of all the food he had in the house. For years Jon has kept Garfood by his side, withstanding the smell of the gradually-rotting food over the years and cherishing the company. Here, in a classic 1988 strip, he finally snaps.
