Strip by: Ian Boreham

{In the lounge on the Millennium Falcon, Luke takes a break in his lightsaber practice to talk to Chewie, See Threepio and Artoo Detoo at the Pokemon Chess table.}
Luke: Hey, Guys! Back on Tatooine, Artoo showed Obi-Wan this cool hologram. Play it, Artoo!

{Artoo Detoo projects a noisy bluish hologram of Princess Leia.}
Leia: ...Obi-Wan Kenobi...You...only...ope!

Luke: Obi-Wan thinks it says, "You are my only hope". Sounds more like "You are a lonely dope".

Han: "You and my aunt elope"?

Chewie: "Aauuuugghhh"?*
* "You must wear only taupe"?

Han: "You have our only soap"? Only I don't think that guy's been near soap in a decade!

{Obi-Wan, looking shocked, appears around the corner behind Han.}

{Obi-Wan, furious, is summoning up some force lightning between his hands, ready to go full dark-side on these ungrateful, disrespectful whippersnappers.}

The author writes:

Life is quite hectic for me at the moment. I came inside form working all day at trying to fix our roof, and without cleaning up or having dinner, I slaved away to finish this in the hope of it going live tonight. Fingers crossed.

UPDATE: Looks like I got it in on time. I've been able to do the transcript and annotation now, and DMM will kindly update them manually for me.

While doing the annotation, I realised that I didn't colour Obi-Wan's eyebrows in the last strip. Maybe the humiliation, along with going to the dark side, is disfiguring him like the prunification of Palpatine?

I wanted to put more effort into colouring this strip, but it was not to be. So please excuse my anatomically incorrect Artoo, and the really dodgy hologram. And all the other places where I cut corners :-( But that all happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, and now I need to focus on the next strip.

I have re-watched a few famous scenes from Star Wars for making comics or other similarly trivial purposes, and am often surprised at (a) how famous quotes are often actually misquotes (not just for Star Wars), and (b) how many things in the original trilogy are inconsistent with the prequels. Obi-Wan pronounces "Wan" in his own name to rhyme with "man". He calls Darth Vader "Darth" a few times, as if it were his name, not a title. He doesn't remember owning a droid (OK, perhaps that's just senility setting in).
