Delkin: Professor?
Ambrose: Yes m'boy?
Delkin: How do you intend to make lightning out of owls?
Ambrose: *sigh* Follow me...
Ambrose: Now Holly, explain the procedure to Master Delkin.
Holly: Very well.
Holly: By negatively charging a group of owls, we can persuade positive ions in the lightning to transmit through them. It may not be perfect but...
Delkin: Wait...
Delkin: Negatively charging a group of owls?
Holly: That's our major stumbling block.
Ambrose: And the source of the mess.

The author writes:

The art style is inspired by the adverts for BUPA we see on British TV. And the title is inspired by old Doctor Who episodes. (Obligatory TV tropes link.) I don't know how you reverse the polarity of an owl, but it has the potential to cause a huge mess.
