Strip by: Damian Hendriks
{Oscar the Grouch is holding up the PJ Masks logo and characters}
Oscar: You still think they're gonna make a seventh season of this show?
{Oscar furiously cracks the picture}
SFX: CRACK!
{The picture is now grey, with the "CANCELLED" on it written in red}
Oscar: Sorry to burst your bubble. But don't worry, I will be around forever! HEH! HEH!
The author writes:
PJ Masks premiered its last new episode on April 15, 2024. In just 6 days ([at the time of this submission. -Ed.], a year will have passed since then. And that's good, because I have always hated it. So, I decided to turn one of the '70s Sesame Street comic strips into a wake-up call to fans of PJ Masks who still think that season 7 is happening, complete with a reference to the fact that Sesame Street will most likely go on forever. I chose one with Oscar the Grouch showing the readers a B, breaking it, and shouting "B is for Broken! Heh! Heh!".
I digitally colored the strip in (the original was in black and white) using the photo editor on my Android, changed Oscar's dialogue to be relevant to the likely cancellation of PJ Masks, and replaced the B with the show's logo.
Original Sesame Street strip: 1973-01-16.
