Strip by: Josep Nollette
{Peter walks into the computer room and sees Jason on the computer.}
Peter: What's up?
Jason: It's Election Day 2024 and I'm looking at the results.
{The camera zooms in toward Jason.}
Jason: I couldn't tell if mom and dad were joking or serious when they said we'd have to leave the USA for another country should Kamala Harris win the election.
{The camera zooms back out. Jason is not happy with what he sees.}
Jason: Well, dang. Trump won. It was just too good to be true.
Peter: I thought you hated Harris.
Jason: I do! Now I'm spending the next four years in a backwater with no paid maternity leave!
The author writes:
I was on an outing with my family one day within the past three months when my mother said we'd have to move back to her native China if Kamala Harris won the then-upcoming US presidential election. I wasn't sure at the time if it was in jest (she says it was half), but this parody pretty much wrote itself.
The script was written at least a month before Election Day, assuming and predicting that Trump would win the election, and I was going to wait until a week after the election results before having this be published.
Any disdain toward Kamala Harris does not automatically translate to support for Donald Trump any more than the other way around. This author did not and does not support any of the two candidates.
