Millie: Maybe my poetic gifts lie along another path.
Ozy: *Ahem*
There's nuts and there's fruits.
In fall the clinging plum drops
always to be squashed.
Millie: Did I just get haiku-slammed?
Ozy: It's an ancient and noble art.

The author writes:

Too bad he doesn't carry an actual plum around, waiting to drop it on the ground and step on it when he gets an excuse to recite that haiku.
