Strip by: Kavviyenta

Strip 1:
{Garfield looks back and forth as he walks}
{He stops to look up which reveals a drooling tongue sticking out of the lamp}
Garfield: Playing hide-and-seek with Odie is no big challenge

Strip 2:
{Garfield is in the laundry basket looking frustrated}
Garfield: I hate playing hide-and-seek with Odie. I've been in this basket for an hour
Garfield: Maybe I shouldn't have found such a good hiding place
Garfield: Or maybe I shouldn't have made Odie count to three

Strip 3:
{Garfield decides to relax, unaware of a pair of hands reaching for the basket}
Garfield: This is fine. What did mom used to say about sleeping in laundry baskets?
{He finds himself thrown into the washing machine by Jon, who is in a towel}
Garfield: Ah, yes..."My son, sleep only in the clean laundry"

Strip 4:
{Garfield pushes open the lid of the filled machine}
Garfield: GASP!
{He angrily throws a piece of clothing at Jon, who is already dressed}
SFX: SPLAT!
{Jon decides to call someone on the phone}
Jon: Hello, mom? The washing machine just spit out my jockey shorts
Garfield: That's one thing I'd never admit to my mother

Strip 5:
{Jon is now pulling clothes out of the drying machine}
Jon: I wish I could find Garfield's hiding place so I could take him to the vet
{Jon walks away, basket in hands}
Jon: He's sure hiding in a good place
{Cue a fluffy dry Garfield stepping out of said machine}
Garfield: A good place -- not a smart place -- but a good place

Strip 6:
{Garfield, back to normal, confronts Odie}
Garfield: Well, Odie, I almost broke every bone in my body, but I did get to win the game
{He smiles at the dog}
Garfield: Someday I hope you do the same
{Only to hang Odie on the tree branch by his mouth as the cat walks away}
Garfield: But not today

The author writes:

Hiding from Jon was a bonus. Getting thrown into both the washing and drying machine was not.
