The author writes:

According to a few different beliefs, which base their claim on the ancient Mayan long count calendar, the world as we know it will come to an end on December 21st 2012. Of course, as fully rational human beings we are certain to ignore this kind of raving lunacy and doom-saying as nothing more than products of a few minds gone astray.

But that was before I found that there does exist foolproof evidence that the world as we know it is certain to face its doom on that fateful day. As you may know it, the webcomic Mezzacotta is able to produce comics far into the past, serving as a time machine of sorts to eras where webcomics should not have existed. How it does this is unknown to me, but it is clear that this webcomic is dealing with powers beyond our comprehension. Which led to the question: Is the webcomic able to predict the future? Thus I entered the fated date of December 22nd 2012, the day after the proclaimed cataclysm.

The strip was blank, with the website claiming that the date I had entered was invalid.

I tried and I tried to refresh the page, yet it was to no avail. Fear started to creep into my heart. Are the predictions really true? Is the world certain to end on that fateful day? According to what could be considered our time machine on the Internet it would be so. I took that as my revelation, and made it my calling to spread the word about what is to come for mankind on December 21st, 2012, and as my first step on this new path, I created a new Square Root of Minus Garfield strip re-enacting the Mezzacotta strip of December 22nd, 2012.

Admin note: This contributor was not privy to the horrific additional information which another contributor sent to us independently. As a public service, we have suitably collated the relevant revelation, and it should now be clear to readers of this comic exactly what event will lead to the end of the world as we know it...
