The author writes:

Panels from all three of Garfield's tributes to Charles "Sparky" Schulz, creator of Charlie Brown and Snoopy and friends.

Panel #1: During Garfield's first week, Jim Davis gives a nod to his inspiration for good luck. Panel #2: At the height of Garfield's popularity, Davis and Schulz are good friends, and do a playful crossover between their equally loved characters. Panel #3: Several months after Schulz's death, Davis has Garfield take Snoopy's iconic place on the doghouse, showing that Sparky's work will live on in all the people he inspired.
