Holly: I kind of... uh... "forgot" to invite him... It'll have to just be you and me... yeah...
Oliver: Well, we should go get him and-
Holly: HAHA WOULD YOU LOOK AT THAT IT'S THE 7 COMIC LIMIT

The fact that nobody, even years later, is allowed to continue a storyline once it hits 7 strips will forever doom Delkin to a life of not having confessed his undying love for Oliver while the Amy Rose introduction scene in Sonic 3 echoes his sentiments.
