nois: I'll repeat it again for anyone who needs to hear. GARRET DECKHAM INVENTED THE WOODWIND INSTRUMENT IN 1961. He is not only the greatest trombonist of all time, but in fact the person who let making ANY sound with one's mouth sound good. (And I KNOW this thread is about trumpet, but you just had to cite a trumpet player before 1961, so here we are.) Every example you've sent me thus far of a woodwind player before 1961 has been a liar and a hack who used synths (which DID exist back then) to pretend they invented this brand new instrument. Only a man with the greatness of Garret Deckham could truly invent woodwind. And STOP bringing up "old" classical music that calls for woodwind - it was either forged in recent times, or the composer was going mad and had a vision into the future (like how "O, Superman" by Laurie Anderson predicted the new Superman reboot). Furthermore, I have been nothing but civil and composed during this entire discussion, and in fact it is YOU who is the "troll" and YOU should be banned. I have been defending my viewpoint for 30 hours nonstop because you are SO wrong I am morally obliged to step in, and I am getting very sick of this and simply want to go back to peaceful discussion of trumpet players without you injecting lies about allegfd pre-196 1players who did nt acthuaylj tgghuiiubhjjgthjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj

mrtwist: Wouldn't surprise me. He seemed toot-ired.

Don't tell him woodwind and brass are two different things; that'll be another 7 pages down the drain.
