The author writes:

This was inspired by my recent business trip to Santa Clara in California. About half an hour's walk from my hotel was the theme park California's Great America. There are rollercoasters and the usual other thrill rides, and part of the park is a water park. The water park area is named Boomerang Bay, and has... an "Australian" theme.

Now, I can absolutely guarantee you that, except perhaps for "Great Barrier Reef", these names are all cringeworthy and ridiculous sounding to Australian ears.

Anyway, telling my friends about this, we began speculating as to what a truly Australian themed park would name its rides...
