Delkin: Fizgig?
Holly: No, but close. It's a homonym of that.

The author writes:

Matt Albrecht's noteworthy Time Machine strip got me wondering, what other jokes could be told with three identical panels, preferably with speaking characters.

I wanted to go with as true homonym as I could find. "Fizgig" seems to have at least some meanings with different etymological backgrounds. It has plenty of meanings altogether, all good nouns. It's not the wikipedia article example. And it sounds and looks nice. The joke would be quite different (not necessarily worse), had I chosen just a homograph.
