The author writes:

[Destructible Watermelon:] this was found on the Wikipedia page for Garfield.

it had this caption:

"The appearance of the characters gradually changed over time.[17] The left panel is taken from the March 7, 1980 strip; the right is from the July 6, 1990 strip."

the two panels appear to be intended to compare the art from two years, but you could also look at it like a two panel strip.

[Sage Haba:] Not sure if this is allowed, but the panels chosen for Garfield's Wikipedia always tickled me.
