Identifying feature: Big round glasses. You can see her eyes through them.
Appearance: A young woman with slightly unruly, wavy, medium-length auburn hair and green eyes.
Colour: Green.
Pattern: Prints/flowers/leaves/paisley.
Personality: Cheerful, vivacious.
Typical roles: plucky heroine, waif, student, hippy, surfer chick, office worker, apprentice, green military recruit, actress, waitress, sales assistant, superhero sidekick.

Delkin

Identifying feature: You never see his eyes. Always hidden by sunglasses, goggles, visor, helmet, mask or hair.
Appearance: A young man with long, unkempt, black hair. Perhaps in dreadlocks.
Colour: Purple.
Pattern: Diamond checks.
Personality: Technical-minded, joker.
Typical roles: rogue, jester, ninja, computer guru, extreme sportsman, mechanic, tourist, clown, musician, artist, student, comedian, biker, engineer, fixer, netrunner.

Ambrose

Identifying feature: Bushy brush moustache.
Appearance: An older man with "mad scientist" grey hair and blue eyes.
Colour: Blue.
Pattern: Patches on clothes.
Personality: Intelligent, eccentric.
Typical roles: wizard, sage, scientist, millionaire, retiree, teacher, professor, librarian, politician, general, industrialist, philanthropist, engineer, ship's captain.
Notes: Ambrose can be a first or last name. So he can just be Ambrose, or Professor Ambrose as needed.

Meridien

Identifying feature: Cloth accessory: ribbon, bow, headband, scarf, headscarf, neckerchief, etc.
Appearance: A woman with very long, straight, blonde hair and hazel eyes.
Colour: Yellow.
Pattern: Dots/planets/stars.
Personality: Nurturing, mystical.
Typical roles: sorceress, priestess, psychic, fortune teller, healer, mother, librarian, linguist, artist, chef, personal assistant, doctor, veterinarian, biologist, psychologist, xenologist.

Samantha

Identifying feature: Big earrings. Different styles, but always big and obvious.
Appearance: A woman with neat, short red hair and grey eyes.
Colour: Red.
Pattern: Stripes.
Personality: Driven, attention-seeking.
Typical roles: acrobat, rogue, pirate, suffragette, race car driver, athlete, dancer, activist, actress, femme fatale, spy, journalist, pilot, celebrity, hotshot superhero.

Oliver

Identifying feature: L-shaped scar. Preferably on face/neck, but anywhere is okay.
Appearance: A completely bald man with brown eyes.
Colour: Orange.
Pattern: Solid colour.
Personality: Noble, considerate.
Typical roles: knight, samurai, athlete, blue collar worker, farmer, father, guard, policeman, paramedic, surgeon, square-jawed superhero, pilot, military officer, judge, detective.

Using the characters

Each character must always be illustrated with the identifying feature whenever possible. This is completely non-negotiable. If they're all wearing space suits or something, that's okay, since presumably they'll be identified by dialogue or nametags anyway.
The appearance is a guideline and can be modified slightly to suit art styles or script requirements of each comic. If you don't have a good reason to mess with it, though, don't.
The colour and pattern are optional. They may be used to further aid identification and characterisation. They could be applied to clothing in general, a small piece of the clothing, or even something they are carrying or using. Try not mix up the identifying colours - use neutrals like brown, grey, black, white rather than another character's colour if you can. If you use multiple colours, try to make the character's own colour dominant or otherwise obvious somehow.
The personalities are deliberately extremely vague. You must follow them, but anything not defined can be set any way you like. For example: Meridien may be wise and calm, or zany and deluded, but she is always mystical and never sceptical. Oliver can be stupid or intelligent, but is always noble and never a criminal. Delkin can be lazy or a workaholic, but is always a joker and never a straight man.
All of the characters have no defined ethnicity, religion, or even species. Each character may be Asian, African, European, or anything else as desired. They may be elves, dwarves, anthropomorphic furries, aliens, ghosts, dragons, whatever. As long as the identifying feature is there.
