The author writes:

There are three constants in this universe: light is fast, division by zero doesn't work, and hands are hard to draw. And, after attempting to draw Preston strangling a flamingo while holding a pair of scissors in panel 2, I finally gave up and just rewrote the strip so that he strangles the flamingo with his hitherto-unannounced telekinesis.

Then I realised that this could be interpreted as a Darth Vader reference, so I put a cartoon halo above his head so that people wouldn't think he was "evil".

Of course, that could confuse a few people into thinking that he's actually an angel... which is why, as you can see, I also drew an arrow pointing to him that says "Not an angel". There. Completely unambiguous.

EDIT: I've gotten emails suggesting that I could have just left out the flamingo-strangling scene. Much as I appreciate reader feedback, all I have to say is... what?
