Did you know that Pedro II of Brazil was a patrilineal descendant of Robert II of France, son of Hugh Capet, founder of the Capetian dynasty? Hugh's great-great-great grandfather, Robert II of Hesbaye, is the earliest known ancestor of the Robertians, its parent dynasty. Robert might also have been a patrilineal descendant of Clovis I, the first king of the unified Franks.
