Denying any responsibility for this is: Drachefly

The author writes:

Now, it's been said that there are no new characters or ideas out there. And this is false. But It does happen from time to time that one working entirely on one's own comes awfully close to the work of another, at around the same time. Whether it be Leibniz and Newton with calculus, Bolyai and Lobachevsky (and for that matter Gauss) with hyperbolic geometry. It happens in little ways too. Like when Deep Space 9 and Babylon 5 had alien medical ethical dilemma episodes at around the same time.

And at other times, the recreation occurs somewhat later but still independently.

In other news, I wish to thank the folks on the forums for re-introducing me to a fabulous webcomic I had heard of but somehow never actually got past the first few pages of. But I should have. And not just because if I had read it, I would have made Elian a bit differently. Seriously, go read the archives right now; BUT make sure to use the order LoaL* gives in that thread, so that it makes more sense.

* Sorry Laurence, I just can't bring myself to write your actual username.
