Silent and Physical

First | Previous | 2014-06-29 | Next | Latest

Strip by: Edwin Chee

{Garfield sees a plate with an apple, a fish and a doughnut}
{Garfield puts the apple in his mouth}
{Garfield spits out an apple core}
{Garfield puts the fish in his mouth}
{Garfield spits out a fish skeleton}
{Garfield puts a doughnut in his mouth}
{Garfield spits out a hole}
{Garfield looks smugly to the reader}

The author writes:

Sometimes, Garfield's gags are physical, but other times, the gags are implied. This one is the latter. I feel that it won't be unusual if this one is more physical in nature, since Garfield had some unusual scenes before (at least, ones that cannot happen in real life).

Initially, Garfield's thought is removed so that the joke isn't redundant, but I decided to remove all sound effects to make this silent, taking a page from Silent-Era Garfield.

Original strip: 1985-12-22.
