{Red and white}
Garfield: I look good in red.
Lyman: Does Garfield always shed like that?
Jon: Only on white disco suits.
{Blue suede shoes}
Garfield: They're getting smarter
{I'm Uncle Sam}
Garfield: How do you do?
{Give me five}
{fan work showing a lizard giving a high five to Garfield}
{I'm still alive}
Jon: Garfield! Speak to me!
Garfield: Hmm, my decoy sprung a leak.
{Ain't no luck}
Garfield: It's just my luck to fall into a hog waller.
{I've learned to duck}
Garfield: I can see the headlines now.
{Check my pulse. It don't change.}
Jon: Checking for a pulse.
Garfield: I hate that.
{Stay seventy-two, come shine or rain.}
Jon: Good morning, sunshine!
Garfield: The sad part is, he was up all night making these.
{Garfield stares out window, watching the rain}
{Wave that flag}
TV: And your right nostril?
TV: That's where I unfurl a tiny flag.
Garfield: Let's hear it for patriotism.
{Pop the bag}
Garfield: Darn... no groceries.
{Rock the boat}
Garfield: That's good.
{Skin the goat}
Garfield: Yeah, you're saying we didn't get invited to a New Year's party!
{Wave that flag; Wave it wide and high}
TV: And your right nostril?
TV: That's where I unfurl a tiny flag.
Garfield: Let's hear it for patriotism.
{Summertime; Done come and gone, my oh my}
Garfield: I hate summer.

The author writes:

The words shown here are from the Grateful Dead song, U.S. Blues, from their studio album, From the Mars Hotel. I tried to find Garfield panels that would fit the lyrics, and I mostly did, except for the line, "give me five," for which I couldn't, so I decided to use a fan drawing instead.
