T-Rex: T-Rex presents The Periodic Table:
T-Rex: 60 NEODYMIUM
T-Rex: A rare earth metal mostly used in magnets. Neodymium alloy magnets are the strongest permanent magnets known. Also used to tint glass and make lasers and stuff!
T-Rex: It's like a super-modern techno-metal!
Utahraptor: I guess that's why it's called neodymium.
T-Rex: Yeah.
T-Rex: The paleodymium age ended with the dawn of the iron age.
T-Rex: It's not used for much of anything any more.

The author writes:

Somewhere in between the Iron Age and the present, usage of mesodymium as the basis of technology peaked, but then died away again.
