Is your browser mezzacotta ready?

Monday, 29 September, 2008 | Posted in News by David Morgan-Mar

To enable the full experience of mezzacotta once we go live, you will need a web browser capable of viewing Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) files. The following browsers have SVG support built in:

  • Firefox 2 and higher
  • Opera 8 and higher
  • Safari 3 and higher
  • Google Chrome
  • Almost every other modern browser

The following browsers do not have built-in SVG support:

  • Internet Explorer (don’t blame us… you know who to blame)

If you are using Internet Explorer, you can install Adobe’s SVG Viewer plug-in, which will allow you to see SVG graphics. You may already have this installed.

If your browser supports SVG, you will see a message on the site home page, right under the countdown, saying “Your browser is mezzacotta ready.” If you do not see this message, please upgrade your browser or install the plug-in mentioned above. Trust us, you won’t want to miss a moment when the site goes live.

Launch put forward

Thursday, 25 September, 2008 | Posted in News by The Hyperstig

That was a lot easier to fix than we first thought, so we’re bringing the launch date forward by 358 days.

I just want to point out that the problem was completely not my fault in any way whatsoever. But I take full credit for the solution.

Launch delay

Due to… unforeseen problems with the coding and data accumulation, we are pushing back the site launch date by a year. Sorry about the inconvenience, but we want to make sure we do this thing right.

Beta testing? What’s that?

My code will just work.

It’s Chaos back here

Code and data are being flung around like over-ripe tomatoes at some weird southern European festival. The deadline is fast approaching and by golly we’re going to get this thing done on time.

Or then again, maybe not.

I do all the hard work around here.

Site redesign

Monday, 15 September, 2008 | Posted in News by David Morgan-Mar

Yep, we’ve launched a cool new site redesign. Of course the site doesn’t actually launch for another two and a half weeks, but we don’t think that’s any reason to hold back!

As you can see, we’ve added a blog component. Just in case it’s not obvious, this blog section is not part of the content which will be launched when the countdown ends. And speaking of which, we’ve re-evaluated that content and decided to increase the asking price to €2000000 (two million euro) before site launch. It will still be €5000000 after launch.
